CEO of Totorinews.com attacked by Kaduna United fans

Francis Achi, a Nigerian journalist popularly known as Totori Master, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of totorinews.com was attacked by some fans of Kaduna United in Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday.

The ugly incident happened when he was about to board the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) bus going to Abuja a day after the Super Eagles played Cranes of Uganda. Some of the fans of Kaduna United on sighting and recognising Mr. Achi as the Match Commissioner that commisioned the Nigeria National League game between Kada City and Kaduna United few weeks ago, which ended abruptly in the 88th minute challenged him that he did not protect the interest of the club.

Kada City was leading the game 1-0 at the time it came to a halt violently when the fans of Kaduna United, having disobeyed the closed door order of the game as directed by the NNL, encroached into the field of play which led to fracas.

The Match Officials escaped unhurt and safely escorted out of the stadium by the security officials.

Sadly, the ugly incident that happened at Kaduna was carried over to Asaba when they saw the journalist cum match commissioner as they threatened to deal with him and during the process, two of the fans attacked him physically.

He recognised one of his attackers as Jamilu Muhammad. Ahmed Mohammed, another fan of Kaduna United tried to calm the aggrieved fans ,but they were out of control in their rage against Mr. Achi.

Totorinews further reports that Coach Adamu Ejo of the Super Sand Eagles and others in the bus were those that prevented further exclate of the attack on the journalist.

Mr. Achi is a Match Commissioner in the Nigeria National League under the Nigeria Football Federation, the official assignment he went for in Kaduna state between Kada City and Kaduna United was under the jurisdiction of the NFF.

“It is therefore expected that NFF and the appropriate authorities should not take this attack on the journalist lightly as it shows that his (Achi) life is under a threat from Kaduna United fans and he is not safe in the country, ” said one of the football fans who witnessed the incident.

The matter has been reported to the Nigeria National League under the Nigeria Football Federation and the security agencies have also been notified of this incident.
