Cyriel Dessers’ Goal Not Enough To Save Genk

Super Eagles forward, Cyriel Dessers got his season on a flying start by scoring for his club KRC Genk but the goal was not enough as lost 3-2 to Club Brugge KV in their match-day one of the Belgium First Division A on Sunday.

Danish winger Andreas Olsen opened scoring for Club Brugge 22nd minutes into the game, Dessers scored the equalizer for the visiting team in the 30th minute to end the game 1-1 at halftime.

Attacking midfielder, Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye put Genk ahead quite early in the second half with a powerful strike in the 47th minute, Hans Vanaken levelled scores for Brugge in the 60th minute. 

And when it looked like the match was going to end, Olsen provided the match-winner late in the 92nd minute with a follow up from Canadian soccer star, Cyle Larin penalty miss as the game finally ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts.
