Nobody can talk me into retirement was the candid response of Onome Ebi to the pressure group that wants her to take a bow out of the Super Falcons and the round leather game at 40 years old, reports www.totorinews.com.

Onome, the Super Falcons captain has been consistent for more than 20 years in the national team with a record of six appearances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the last one being the co- hosted tournament between Australia and New Zealand in July/ August, 2023 where Nigerian amazons performed very well.

“When I’m done I would make that decision myself. Nobody is going to talk me into retirement or make me stop playing,” Onome Ebi said on Sports Radio 88.9 Brila Fm.

“It is the game I love. It is the game I enjoy. So when I’m done, when I’m satisfied that I can no longer play, I will call it a day.

“Nobody can make me retire when I’m not ready,” she declared.
