Euromatch NPFL27: Resolute Nasarawa United Make History in Ibadan, Hold Shooting Stars to Goalless Draw

The Solid Miners, as Nasarawa United are nicknamed, on Sunday evening secured their first-ever point against Shooting Stars on the road following a hard-fought 0-0 draw against the Oluyole Warriors at the iconic Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In the Matchday Seven encounter of the 2026/27 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League, Nasarawa United displayed remarkable tactical discipline, defensive solidity and resilience to frustrate the hosts in front of their vociferous home crowd.

Despite mounting late pressure from the home side, the Lafia-based team remained compact, organised and resolute, absorbing waves of attacks while launching occasional forays forward to earn a priceless point away from home.

The result is Nasarawa United’s first-ever point against the Oluyole Warriors in Ibadan and their first away point of the season.

The result lifts Nasarawa United to 13th position on the league table with eight points, while Shooting Stars drop to 17th, as the battle for survival and supremacy intensifies.

An excited Coach Mangut Mbwas said the Solid Miners will now shift their focus to their next assignment when they host third-placed Doma United FC at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 4pm.

The Lafia side will be hoping to build on the result and consolidate their upward trajectory in the league.
