Primaries Senator Dino Melaye has lost his bid to return to the Red Chamber as he was defeated by House of Representatives member and Political rival, Tajudeen Yusuf, www.totorinews.com reports.

Melaye was only able to garner 99 votes against Yusuf who polled 163 votes.
Yusuf, a three term House of Representatives member was level with Melaye at 88 votes each as at Monday night leading to a Run-off.

Yusuf is said to be backed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike while Melaye had the support of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
