Tijani Babangida is the new President of NANPF

Former Nigeria International, Tijani Babangida has emerged as the new President of National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) after his main challenger,
Ashifat Olayinka Sulayman stepped down from the contest.

Babangida was a member of the Dream Team 1 Olympic Eagles that won football gold medal at the Atlanta ’96 Olympics and also played for the Super Eagles at the France ’98 World Cup, where he scored the consolatory goal for Nigeria in the 4-1 bashing the Eagles received from Denmark.

Other former Nigeria Internationals in the new executive committee of NANPF are Clement Temile, (Vice President), Patrick Paschal, (Financial Secretary) ,Edema Fuludu (Treasurer), Chikelue Ilonyeosi (Internal Auditor), Mutiu Adepoju ( Trustee) to mention but a few.

It is expected that Babangida and the rest of the new executive members of NANPF will bring into the association fresh ideas that will move the union forward for positive development of football in Nigeria.
