SUPER FALCONS LOST FROM THE BENCH

Randy Waldrum lost the script from the bench against Morocco

    By Abiodun Joseph

African football is still way behind as it continues to hide under the tree of poverty and fear of tomorrow. After the wicked experience of Super Falcons against the Atlas Lionesses on Monday night, it was very clear to me that African Footbal is in the hands of the wrong people who desperately want nothing, but change the narrative to favor them by any means necessary.

The Moroccan ladies could not boast of playing football to get to where they are without the bias officiating and host must win syndrome. How can a team depend on wicked officiating and are still closed to losing despite all the support from the powers that be from the North and CAF.

The facts are very clear and that is to get them to the final at all cost. The way Nigeria was dealt with by the Moroccans could not have happened if we have a Coach who knows what he is doing.

Had it been we have a coach who knows and understand African Football, we would not be lamenting. His poor knowledge and judgement cost us the match and not the combo of Morocco and African football politics. I might not be a coach but smart enough to identify a very poor coach when i see one.

Without any doubt we need to think inwardly if we want our football to grow and not allow people who just speak grammar to destroy our talents. Waldrum is not a coach that can help our female football. He is too confused to even know what he is doing with the girls and all of us can see the direction we are headed under him.

He invited the girls he felt comfortable with and it was glaring that he has no plans for our local girls who are naturally talented but have very little opportunity to excel under our present Coaches. No wonder he left a naturally gifted Monday on the pitch to chase Sunday in his wild chase for success.

Gallant in defeat…Super Falcons of Nigeria

Waldrum is the only one who knows why a very tired leg should be on the pitch for 90mins plus extra time and still be allowed to take part in the penalty kicks. Like i said i am not a coach but i follow live statistics of the game to drive home my points.

I believe it is time for Nigeria to do away with all these below average coaches who just flaunt paper certificates to further destroy our talents. I am very unhappy with Waldrum’s execution of our matches and his woeful technical depth which favoured the desperate African Football politics and the host must win syndrome which jointly force our Super Falcons to surrender their title to a very very weak Moriccan side.
We should not be afraid to tell the man the direction we want our football development to go.

My verdict, Super Falcons lost from the bench despite the two red cards given to Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade in the second half of the tension soaked encounter.
