Oyewale Shines As Giugliano Beat Monopoli

Defence stabiliser…Sulaiman Oyewale too strong for two opposing players

Nigeria’s defender, Sulaiman Oyewale in the colours of Giugliano Calcio of Italy was in action for his club as they defeated visiting Monopoli 2-1  on Sunday, reports www.totorinews.com.

It was an Italian Serie C encounter at the Alberto de Cristofaro stadium in Campania, Italy that saw Oyewale came in for Genny Rondinella in the 61st minute of the thrilling game.

Giugliano had earlier went ahead with goals from Lucas Fellipe in the 16th and 46th minute to the admiration of the home fans, but it became a tensed affair when Monopoli pulled one back through Giovanni Pinto 12 minutes later.

The Nigerian left- back was quickly called into action, as he helped the defence of Giugliano to neutralised all the attacking forays of Monopoli to secure the maximum points for his team at the end of 90 minutes.

Giugliano now have 23 points after 14 games as they continue their quest to gain promotion to Italian Serie B at the end of the season.
