NPFL CLUBS EXCITE GUSAU IN CAF COMPETITIONS AS NEW NFF BOSS URGES PLATEAU, RIVERS AND KWARA UNITED TO CONSOLIDATE VICTORIES AWAY FROM HOME

New NFF President, Alh.  Ibrahim Musa Gusau has expressed excitement over the victories  of Nigeria Professional Football League clubs in CAF club competitions.  

The President made this known while attending a CAF Champions League encounter between Plateau United and Esperance of Tunisia at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja earlier on Saturday.

Alh. Gusau who was elected as new NFF President last week in Benin, Edo State also called on the Nigeria representatives not to relent as the teams still have  unfinished business away from home.  

The new NFF supremo was present at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja when Plateau United came from a goal down to beat Esperance of Tunisia 2-1 in a CAF Champions League tie.  

Other dignitaries at the stadium to witness the game were  the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare and Plateau State Governor, Rt Hon.  Simon Bako Lalong.

Elsewhere, last season  NPFL Champions, Rivers United narrowly edged Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 2-1  in another CAF Champions League tie in Porthacourt  while Nigeria’s sole representative in CAF Confederations Cup , Kwara United defeated RS Berkane of Morocco 3-1  in Lagos going into the second leg with two goals advantage.
