Iwobi dedicates splendid goal against Man U to Okocha

Alex Iwobi celebrates his splendid goal against Manchester United in the EPL.

Super Eagles player and Everton attacker Alex Iwobi was happy to score a classical goal in defeat to Manchester United, which he dedicated to former Super Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, his uncle, reports www.totorinews.com.

The former Arsenal man gave Frank Lampard‘s side a first half lead from a well taken placement outside the box, but a swift response from Antony and a second half goal from Cristiano Ronaldo ensured it was United who left with all three points.

Speaking to Everton‘s official website after the match, Iwobi said: “The manner in which we conceded their two goals, it was something that we were talking about before the game. We know the threat that they have on the counter-attack. We tried to nulify that but we weren’t able to do so, couple of mistakes, it’s something that we can’t dwell on too long.”

Speaking about his own goal, he added: “When the ball came to me I thought ‘the keeper’s unsighted here. Let me try and place it’. It’s something to add to my game, hopefully there’s more goals like that to come.”
