NPFL Chairman Issues Ultimatum to Seven Clubs to Improve Stadium Facilities

Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye

By Paul Michael

Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Chairman of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), has issued a stern warning to seven clubs in the top flight, directing them to address deficiencies in their stadium infrastructure.

The affected clubs are Abia Warriors, Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars, Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes, Plateau United, and newly promoted El-Kanemi Warriors.

The NPFL Chairman has ordered these clubs to upgrade their playing surfaces to meet the required standards, failure of which they will be forced to play their home matches at alternative venues.

This directive aims to ensure that all stadiums in the NPFL meet the necessary standards to provide a safe and conducive environment for players, officials, and spectators.

The clubs have been given a deadline to complete the necessary upgrades, and failure to comply may result in severe sanctions, including the use of alternative venues for their home matches.
