Marvellous Mavlon FC, a modest Nigerian clubside massacred Malaga 6 – 1 to end their European training tour in style in Spain, reports www.totorinews.com.
Brace from lethal striker Sunday Oche and Abdulsamad Ayuba, coupled with a goal each from Simon Cletus and Bonaking Offor handed defeat to the U19 team of Malaga, the team topping the U19 league in Spain.
It was Malaga that drew the first blood early before Oche equalised for the Nigerians in the 13th minute. Thereafter, Mavlon had the cruise control of the game, though, it ended a goal apiece at the end of first half.
But like a provoked hurricane, Mavlon resumed from the break to pummel their more illustrious opponents with five goals to seal a famous win against Malaga in the front of their home fans.
Speaking exclusively to TOTORI NEWS, Muyiwa Showole said that Malaga thought it was going to be a stroll in the park, but it was a different taught and learnt in hard way.
“We are glad to end our international training tour with a victory. We thank Mavlon management for this great opportunity. It was a difficult game and the boys won with wide goals margin.
“Funny enough, Malaga thought they were going to beat us. You know we took our U17 players and we played against their U19 players. So, our players looked small.
“Anyway, it was a different ball game on the field and it ended 6 – 1 against Malaga,” he said.
Mavlon Fc are pacessetters in Nigeria. In the course of the year 2024, the played 18 international games, won10, drew three and lost five.
