Edema Fuludu, a member of 1994 AFCON Super Eagles winning team is not very optimistic that Nigeria will be crowned African champions again in Ivory Coast, reports www.totorinews.com.
He admitted that the feat of Osimhen and the good form of his teammates may not necessarily win the tournament for Nigeria, as he reckoned that the poor form of the Super Eagles in their last two games does not depict a team capable of subduing the rest of Africa.
“AFCON is a very difficult tournament. On current form, Super Eagles does not look like a team that can qualify for the final AFCON and win it,” Fuludu told reports www.totorinews.com exclusively.
“I based this on the form the team exhibited in their last two World Cup qualifying games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
“We need to regig the team and remove complacency and over confidence for the team to become Super at the AFCON tournament.
“Although, I will be glad if the team proves me wrong and win the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast,” he said.
