As i checked through the NPFL table after match day 32, i was shocked to see Enyimba FC of Aba swimming along the tide of relegation water in 15th position on 39 points.

Enyimba could only manage to gather 39 points from 32 games. This is not the Enyimba that football loving Nigerians knew under the Chief Felix Anyansi, former chairman of the club. The club that gave millions of Nigerians joy when the team won back to back Champions League trophy in 2003 and 2004.
Unfortunately, same club is on survival mode in the 2025/2026 season playing visual constipation football under the current chairman, Kanu Nwankwo.
The fact is Anyansi ran the affairs of the club, where he won 32 trophies in 24 years in charge, with nine NPFL titles during his tenure, but the club has nosedived terribly this season and it is very glaring that there is something wrong at the club.

Agreed that Anyansi will not be there forever. There is no qualms with Kanu Nwankwo coming on board with a breathe of fresh air in 2023, but the air is now toxic in Enyimba, trying to choke the team into relegation.
Anyansi should not have been completely left out of the club, at least his experience is still needed at an advisory role.
Feelers reaching me indicated that the environment at the club is not conducive for the 1st Vice President of the NFF to grace any of the league game since he left the club. Some supporters are even tagged Anyansi men, others belong to Nwankwo.
Whatever be the case militating against Enyimba, i believe that genuine football stakeholders in the state should rally together to rescue this noble from the inglorious path to relegation.

Anyway, let me not forget to add that Kano Pillars is also on a bumper to bumper ride behind Enyimba on the relegation zone.
What an interesting drama in the NPFL this season where the likes of Enyimba, Kano Pillars and Remo Stars of Remo, the current champions are all at the relegation axis.
