Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Wisdom Fernando on a three-year deal, www.totorinews.com can exclusively confirm.
The 22-year-old winger joins the Porcupine Warriors on a free transfer, replacing Bernard Somuah who was loaned out to Spanish side Celta Fortuna.
Fernando’s registration was finalized on the last day of the transfer window, August 25, 2024. He will link up with his new teammates in Cape Coast for pre-season preparations ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The former Akwa United player boasts an impressive record in the Nigerian Professional Football League, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 76 appearances across seven seasons. His contributions played a crucial role in Akwa United’s title triumph in the 2020-21 season.
Fernando becomes the fifth foreign signing for Kotoko this transfer window, joining Esmat Abdulhamid, AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub, Samba O’Neil, and Mohamed Camara. His addition strengthens Kotoko’s attack and sets the stage for an exciting season ahead.
