Solomon Agbalaka’s bullet header goal in the 71st minute was all the Flying Eagles needed to bounce back to reckoning to beat Junior Pharoahs of Egypt at the on – going AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt on Wednesday evening, reports www.totorinews.com.
Flying Eagles had earlier lost their opening group game to Senegal 1-0 and this win is definitely a morale booster for Ladan Bosso tutored side as they look forward to the last group game on Saturday against Mozambique, which lost to Senegal 3-0 in the earlier game played today in the group.
With this victory, Flying Eagles now have three points and on the second position behind Senegal. Egypt, the host nation is on third position with a point from two games, same point with Mozambique that lies at the bottom, but more goals deficit.
Prior to the win of the Flying Eagles, Bosso had charged the players to forget the painful loss to Senegal and concentrate on beating Egypt, citing Argentina that lost their opening game of the Qatar World Cup to Saudi Arabia, but still went ahead to win the tournament.
