Golden Eaglet starlet, Charles Agada’s beauty of a goal could not rescue his club, Mavlon Fc from the jaws of defeat to Broad City Fc on Match Day 2 of the on- going Lagos Supremacy Cup.
Broad City went very broad all over the field for Mavlon FC, their dominance felt as a brace from Ayomide Bakare confirmed their strong intent of carrying the day and they stuck to their game going into the break.
It was a different affair entirely in the second half. Mavlon rose to the occasion, taken over the midfield with their scintillating passes in their distribution of the ball and having the upper edge in ball possession.
Simon Cletus, another Golden Eaglet starlet in the colours of Mavlon Fc was the midfield general and his creativity was felt when his skillful ball distribution found Agada on the left side of the attack, who quickly deleted two defenders and hit a high drive into the top corner of the net to reduce the deficit 2-1.
Despite their great football artistry in the second half, Mavlon could not find the second goal, the needed equaliser. Broad City were determined not to shift their ground the second time, as it ended 2-1 against Agada and his teammates.
Lagos Supremacy Cup continues on Wednesday with hostilities at the MMJ stadium, Onikan.
