AFCON Clash: We won’t go into the game to underrate Guinea-Bissau, says Onyeka

Ahead of the clash between the Super Eagles and the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau, Frank Onyeka, the energetic Nigerian midfielder, says their opponents from West Africa will not be treated with kid gloves,.reports www.totorinews.com.

The Brentford of England midfielder said that the on- going AFCON has witnessed some upsets, it is therefore very important to approach every game with a strong winning mentality.

“Every game is important. Guinea Bissau is not an easy side,” Onyeka told nigeriainfo.fm in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

“If you look at what’s happening in the group stage, a lot of trams are getting beaten, surprisingly.

“You see Cameroon, Ghana all these teams are struggling. So, for us, we won’t take any games lightly, we want to win all and show them that we are Nigerians, we are Super Eagles.

“We won’t go into the game to underrate Guinea Bissau. No!”

The former FC Ebedie of Lagos player revealed that AFCON tournament can be used as a platform to take a footballers career to the next level of greatness and he is focused on achieving that with the Super Eagles.

“You know this AFCON can boost your career from a certain level to the top. So, for me, coming into it, I knew what I wanted for me, for the team, for the country, and for my family. I just knew what I wanted.

“So, I’m here to win and by God’s grace, we’ll be able to achieve it. I came with a strong and different mentality,” he said.
