The efforts of Anas Yusuf, the highest goals scorer in the just concluded NPFL 2024/25 season with 18 goals has not gone unnoticed by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF), reports www.totorinews.com.
In a brief chat with the media in Abuja, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, the chairman of the NPFL, who also doubles as the 2nd Vice President of the NFF, said that Anas has proven to have the quality of playing in the Super Eagles, but the decision lies with the Eric Chelle, the head coach of the national team.
“The coach has the final say regarding which player gets invitation to the Super Eagles. We are particularly happy that 11 players in the NPFL were invited to the Unity Cup, a very commendable feat by Eric Chelle,” Hon. Elegbeleye said.

“Regarding Anas Yusuf, who is a striker. I think Chelle know his quality and he also has his reason for inviting other strikers, but that does not mean the Nasarawa United striker will not get his national call- up in the future.
“I can categorically tell you that the leadership of NFF led by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau are on this matter and hopefully the striker will get his invitation very soon,” he said.
