What NNL will do to referees this season – Attah

Emmanuel Attah, CEO of NNL

Ahead of the new season in the Nigeria National League (NNL), Emmanuel Attah, the CEO of the league has revealed what the league body has in stock for Nigerian referees, reports www.totorinews.com.

He particularly sounded a note of warming to any erring referee, as he insisted that he or she will face the axe for not meeting up to the expectations of the football stakeholders and the fans.

He, however assured that football loving Nigerians will witness the best of officiating in the NNL this season.

“In 2023/2024 season we want to ensure all football fans and stakeholders; that they would see the best of officiating, we will not rest.,” Emmanuel Attah told www.totorinews.com in Abuja.

“In order to encourage the referees; their indemnities have been increased, but that will be made known to the public very soon.

“Also the board will put it before the NFF that we will  need a pool of our own referees that will participate in the National League Officially.

“So, that if any of them does not meet our expectations, he or she is automatically out, but we strongly believe in their ability that they will give us the best.

“We saw what they can do in Kano and also recently the pre- season competition organised by club owners, which of course we supported.

“We saw excellent officiating, which means we got good officiating and we will continue to encourage them, but we will not take it lightly with any poor officiating.

“We take the league very dear to ourselves in NNL because we want to make this league the best; it is the most important league in Nigeria, but we also want it to be the best, that is our resolve,” he said.
