Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled Nigerian centre-back Princewill Biweribo Tarabina as their latest signing ahead of the 2026/27 season www.totorinews.com reports.

The 23-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract with the Venoms, adding further strength and depth to their defensive ranks as they prepare for another demanding campaign on both domestic and continental fronts.

Tarabina joins Vipers from Nigeria Premier Football League side Plateau United, where he enjoyed a productive spell and established himself as a regular in the heart of the defence. He made 20 league appearances last season, scoring two goals and registering two assists.

Before joining Plateau United, the Nigerian defender spent four seasons with Bayelsa United, gaining valuable top-flight experience and developing into a strong, physical and reliable centre-back.
Vipers moved swiftly to secure Tarabina’s services as head coach Denis Lavagne continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

Speaking to Vipers Media after the signing, Lavagne expressed his delight at the arrival of the Nigerian defender.

“I’m pleased that we have been able to add to our squad with the arrival of Princewill. The club is a great place for him to be and his game will develop further.”

Tarabina, meanwhile, expressed his excitement at joining the Ugandan champions and is eager to get started with his new teammates.

“I am very happy to be part of the Vipers Sports Club family. I can’t wait to meet my teammates, staff and the fans of the club.”

The Nigerian also acknowledged Vipers’ status as league champions and the challenge of defending their title.
“I know Vipers is a great club in Uganda and I know they were league champions last season. We have to defend the title.”
Tarabina added that he is looking forward to working under Lavagne, having seen the impact the coach has had on the development of young players.

“I can’t wait to start working with Lavagne, as I’ve seen the progress that young players can make working with him.”
His arrival is expected to provide Vipers with greater defensive depth and competition as the club prepares to defend its domestic crown while competing on the continental stage.
