Usman Mohammed’s time in Super Eagles will come – YSFON Boss

Hon. Faruk Mallami Yabo, the vice president of Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has said that Usman Mohammed, that plies his trade in Sweden with  Sarpsborg 08 FF will have his time in the Super Eagles soon reports www.totorinews.com.

Mohammed dazzled football loving fans when the Super Eagles played against Athletico Madrid in an international friendly game . He scored a breathtaking goal against the La Liga side in the game that unfortunately ended 4-2 against Nigeria .

However , Yabo, a former commissioner of finance in Sokoto state  is of the firm opinion that Mohammed who can either play as a creative or defensive midfielder has the potentials to contribute his quota to the progress of the Super Eagles in the nearest future ,so long he maintains his good form in his club .

“I cannot tell the technical crew of the Super Eagles which player to invite to the national camp. Usman Mohammed is a very good player. I am happy that Nigerians watched him in the game against Athletico  Madrid and they saw the scintillating dribbles from Mohammed that ridiculed the defenders of Athletico Madrid before he eventually scored that beautiful goal. So, there is no doubt that he is a good player.

“Sometimes, footballer may have what we call drought in farming ,but if Mohammed keeps improving his game , the Super Eagles will definitely beckon for him and we are very happy that he is a product of Sokoto State Poverty Reduction Agency (SPORA) where talent discovery in football was one of the focal points of the programme.

“I am also happy with the development of Shehu Abdullahi, one of the products of SPORA who is an integral member of the Super Eagles. My experience over the years in YSFON is that Nigeria is blessed with abundance of football talents. All we need is to refine them to become world class players for their clubs and country,” Yabo said.
