Super Eagles: Maduka Okoye is no. 1…bench loading for Nwabali

Maduka Okoye

Maduka Okoye proved his doubters wrong in the international friendly game against Poland, which ended 2-2 few days ago.

The second goal he conceded in the game was not his fault. The players made him vulnerable and exposed him to that thunderous shot from 35 yards that rocketed into the net.

As it stands now, Okoye is number one in the Super Eagles. Francis Uzoho is number two and newly invited Arthur Okonkwo, who had his debut game against Zimbabwe is still on audition at number 3 position.

Whenever Stanley Nwabali gets a club, he will have to work very hard to regain his form and come back to the nest of the Super Eagles, where he will fight for the no. 1 spot with Okoye or watch the Udinese shot- stopper be in action for a long time.

Eric Chelle and his technical crew will then decide who to invite to complete the three slots allocated for goalkeepers in the Super Eagles.

Will it be Uzoho or Okonkwo. If you want to go for experience, Uzoho will be picked, and if it is about the future, then Okonkwo will be considered.

What do you think?

Meanwhile, Okoye should continue to enjoy his groove as number one. I hope he gets another good game against World Cup bound Portugal in the international friendly game next week.
