Shooting Stars well motivated, players on N300k monthly, says Balogun

General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports club of Ibadan, Oyo state, Rasheed Balogun has revealed the main secret behind the good form of the club in the Nigeria National League (NNL), in their quest to gain promotion to the top flight league in Nigeria, www.totorinews.com reports.

According to the astute football administrator, the government of Oyo state and His excellency, Egnr. Seyi Makinde have been very kind to the team in ensuring that the players, technical crew and other officials are well motivated to get the desired expectations of the stakeholders of the team.

And at a time when most Nigerian clubs are in the news for wrong reasons of owing salaries and other financial entitlements of their players, Shooting Stars Sports Club are not in that category, says Balogun.
He further informed that despite playing in the second tier league in Nigeria, the club pays up to N300,000.00 for their players and the least date to expect credit alert of their financial entitlements is on the 26th of every month.

“Shooting Stars Sports Club are well motivated. The club pays up to N300,000 as salary for players, the highest paid club in the NNL,” Rasheed Balogun told www.totorinews.com in Abuja.

“The least date for players to get their salary is 26th of every month. If 25th falls on a Saturday, the club pays on the 24th. The government of Oyo state under the leadership of Egnr. Seyi Makinde is doing well for the team,” he added.

Aside from the financial motivations, Balogun said that the club have been together for some years and not even the COVID-19 pandemic could prevent the players from staying together as a team.

“Since COVID-19, our players have been together. The players have been together since 2019 and we are not owing any player his salary.

“Shooting Stars is not in the category of clubs that pays their players N20,000. and the players will not see salary for 10 months,” he concluded.
