Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, on Monday visited Nigeria’s U17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, as they continue preparations for the WAFU-B U17 Championship in Burkina Faso.
Olopade met with the players and officials at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, where he encouraged the youngsters to give their best and make the country proud when they take to the field in Ouagadougou.
The NSC Director-General reminded the players of the Nigerian spirit and charged them to embrace the responsibility of restoring the glory associated with the five-time world champions.
He assured the team that millions of Nigerians are solidly behind them and wished them success at the championship.
Olopade also expressed confidence in the team’s ability to excel in Burkina Faso, urging the players to remain focused, disciplined and determined throughout the competition.
He expressed hope that the Golden Eaglets would return home victorious.
The Golden Eaglets are expected to depart Nigeria on Tuesday for Ouagadougou, where they will continue their preparations ahead of their opening game of the WAFU-B U17 Championship.
