NPFL 23 : Four Away Wins Thrill Sam Sodje, Hails IMC

Action in NPFL match day one fixture between Enugu Rangers and Abia Warriors at Awka on Sunday. It ended 2-0 in favour of the away team, Abia Warriors

Sam Sodje is thrilled with four away wins recorded on match day one of the NIgeria Premier Football League (NPFL) across the country, reports www.totorinews.com.

Sodje, a former Super Eagles defender, who is presently the Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Sports/Chairman Technical Committee, Delta State Football Association (DFA), said that the Interim Management Committee ( IMC), saddled with the responsibility of administering the league has given a glimpse of the good things to expect in the NPFL this season as seen on match day one activities.

“NPFL started on a very good note by recording four away wins. I think this a good sign that Nigerian league will surely get better under the IMC,” Sam Sodje told www.totorinews.com exclusively.

“It is not easy for clubs to win at away. It sends so many signals of good things about NPFL. One is that, if you work hard and play to high standard, you can win your game even at an away or get favourable result.

“When a team scores three goals at away, it shows that the team is good and officiating was topnotch professionalism, talking about Shooting Stars that played 3-3 with Plateau United in Jos.

“I am fully convinced that the fortunes of NPFL will change for better under the administration of the IMC,” he said.
