The Nigeria National League (NNL) is gearing up for an exciting new season, with 36 teams vying for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The 2025/2026 season is scheduled to kick off on November 8, 2025, with a star-studded match between Lobi Stars and City FC of Abuja www.totorinews.com reports.
Conference Lineups
The teams have been divided into four conferences:
– Conference A
– Abia Cometsvs. Smart City
– Beyond Limits FA vs. Godswill Akpabio FC
– Crown FC vs. Heartland FC
– Edel FC vs. Sunshine Stars
– E-World Utd vs. Inter Lagos FC
– Conference B
– Akwa Utd vs. Solution FC
– Abakaliki FC vs. Rovers FC
– Ekiti Utd vs. Stormers FC
– Dakkada FC vs. First Bank FC
– Sporting Lagos vs. Osun Utd
– Conference C
– ABS vs. Sokoto Utd
– Basira FC vs. Might Jets
– Doma Utd vs. Kada Warriors
– Lobi Stars* vs. City FC Abuja
– Conference D
– Bichi first FC vs. Yobe Desert Stars
– Jigawa GoldenStars vs. Kebbi Utd
– Rancher Bees FCvs. Gombe Utd
– Adamawa Utd vs. Sporting Supreme FC, Abuja
The top team in each conference will gain automatic promotion to the NPFL. The relegation rules are as follows :
– Conferences A and B: The last three teams in each conference will be relegated to the lower division.
– Conferences C and D: The last two teams in each conference will be relegated to the lower division.
The 2025/2026 NNL season is expected to run from November 8, 2025, to April 2026. However, the league’s board had initially announced an October kickoff, with the exact date yet to be confirmed.
With the new season approaching, teams are expected to intensify their preparations to secure a spot in the NPFL. The NNL promises to deliver thrilling matches, and fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the season.
