Football loving Lagosians were treated to sublime friendly encounter between Mavlon Fc and Sporting Lagos at Onikan stadium on Saturday morning.
It was a game that witnessed Samuel Friday James in goal for Mavlon Fc made some breathtaking saves and excellent performance that ended in 3-3 at the end of 90minutes to the delight of fans of both sides and the neutrals.
Sporting Lagos are the rave of the moment in Nigeria Football, having gained promotion to the elite league and also won the Super 8 Pre- Season tournament after beating Remo Stars.
It was therefore very shocking when they filed against Mavlon FC. a modest NationWide League side that parades highly talented young footballers and the team proved very difficult to crack to submission.
And the main talking point after the game was the heroic display of James, who will be heading to Charlton Athletic of England in the next couple of hours as part of his developmental process in the game.
Samuel has potentials to become one of the great goalkeepers of his generation, if he remains focused and continues to work hard to improve his game.
