Captain Ijachi, Supporter of Mavlon Consult receives Humanitarian Award

The good deeds of Captain Matthew Ijachi, the supporter of Mavlon Consult Limited has been rewarded with Humanitarian Award.

Captain Ijachi hosted the Otukpo soccer talent hunt tournament in Benue State, Nigeria, which attracted 16 communities within the Idoma nation to the delight everyone that witnessed the thrilling scouting program at the football pitch of Jesus College, Otukpo.

The future of the round leather game lies in the development of grassroot football talents scattered all over Nigeria and the just concluded Under 18 scouting football tournament did not lack exciting and highly gifted teenage footballers.

Everything working out fine, the selected players may find themselves playing in Europe very soon, as scouts of some European clubs were around to monitor the exploits of these teenage football sensations from Idoma nation.

It is in this light that Humanitarian Award – Grassroot Football was presented to the football passionate Captain Ijachi during the tournament, that ended on Saturday.

Speaking after receiving the award, the youthful and very fit Captain Ijachi said that, he is very grateful to God for receiving the award and his desire is to see Idoma youths become successful with their God- given gifts in football and every other areas of their endeavours.

He noted that there are many young and talented footballers who are in various villages in Nigeria and one of the ways to harness their potentials is through scouting football tournament, where these players can be discovered and nurtured to football stars, once they get opportunities to take their craft to Europe.

“I give God all the glory for this award. I also thank the organisers of the award. I just wanted something good to happen to lives of young talented footballers in Idoma communities and I thank God that the project looks very promising,” Captain Ijachi told the media.

He added : “We know how football has transformed the lives of many families and I know that Idoma nation is not lacking in football talents, but these footballers found it difficult to be noticed.

“Some gifted footballers could not make it beyond their communities because of lack of exposure. Some gave up and took to another trade, but the idea behind this scouting program is to give hope and help these footballers to realise their dreams.

“All the games were recorded by Mavlon Consult media team and the performances of these players were monitored by the foreign scouts and everyone involved in this tournament.

“Some players were selected at the end of the tournament and it is hoped that this is the beginning of better future for the Idoma youths through the platform of football,” he said.
