An Egyptian that works at the hotel where Super Eagles are staying in Cairo, Ahmed Farouq has described Kanu Nwankwo as an artist on the field during his days with the national team and some clubs in Europe, reports totorinews exclusively.

Ahmed said he is very excited to see the Super Eagles doing so well at the AFCON 2019, as he revealed that he still has fond memories of Kanu Nwankwo, his sublime skills, describing the type of goals he scored during his footballing career as an artist drawing some objects.

“I like Nwankwo Kanu. He was an artist on the field. His goals, dribblings were like an artist drawing some objects for exhibition. Kanu was a phenomenon on the field.” Ahmed said with a smile on his face.

“The whole of Egypt was sad when we heard he had heart problem after Nigeria won football gold medal at the 1996 Olympics. i was sad, then he had a successful surgery and continued with his football till he retired” Ahmed added.

Selfie time …Egyptian football fans surrounds Kanu Nwankwo for selfies

“Kanu is so humble. Egyptians love him and they have been taking selfies with him. I want Nigeria to win Algeria on Sunday. Your present team is good, but not as good as Kanu’s team in Eagles,” he said.
