Another landmark achievement was made in the FRSC on 8 November 2024 when 1,395 personnel of the Corps were elevated from their previous ranks of Marshals to the officer cadre, courtesy of harmonization process under the watch of our Corps Marshal, Shehu Usman Mohammed.
This is not only a true testament of a leader with clear cut genuine intent to build the confidence and self esteem of his foot soldiers but fulfillment of promises during his inaugural speech on assumption of office to domesticate the harmonization policy in the FRSC, thus working his talk as a leader who understands the yearnings of his staff.
Truth be told that prior to this moment, this rare feat was percieved as undoable and unachievable which made the Corps’ staff to suffer serious drawbacks in career progression with inevitable negative impact on job delivery..
As we congratulate the beneficiaries, kudos must go to our Corps Marshal who is not only an accomplished public officer and a welfarist but can aptly be described as a CM Game Changer who by this singular act, has midwifed a new narrative on the Corps’ trajectory which will no doubt, usher a new dawn of revving up the morale of its work force, engender improved service delivery and unwavering commitment to road Safety management in Nigeria. Understandably, the Corps Marshal must be working vigorously to address other issues which have created obvious gaps in the Corps’ administrative and operational drive to bequeath safer road culture to the Nigerian motoring public such as HND dichotomy issue which has since been removed by the Federal Government and implemented by some govt agencies through proper placement of their personnel through promotion. There’s no doubt that the Corps Marshal has activated the process towards proper placement of some FRSC staff who were affected by same policy. The best is yet to come….
