Brownhill Foundation Donates Basketball Court to Government College, Ugheli

The Chairman of Brownhill Foundation, a -Warri based Non-Governmental Organisation in Delta State, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick has been described as a shinning example that should be emulated for his commitment to sports development in Nigeria. 

This assertion was made by the President General of Government College, Ughelli Old Boys Association, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN during the commissioning of an ultra-modern Basketball court donated to the school by Brownhill Foundation. 

According to the widely acclaimed legal luminary, the donation of the Basketball court to the school will undoubtedly create opportunities for young athletes to aspire and realise their full potentials, with a profound and lasting impact on the students and the community at large.

Also speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the traditional ruler of the host community, His Royal Majesty, Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi 111, the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, described the occasion as a milestone in his over four decades of being the custodian of the customs and traditions in Urhobo land. 

He poured royal blessings on the Chairman of the Brownhill Foundation, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick,  immediate past  two -term President of the Nigeria Football Federation and FIFA Council Member, for looking  beyond the game of football in his sports development strides.

Highlights of the ceremony was the unveiling of the newly constructed Basketball Court, marked by traditional dances and festivity of sorts.

At the sidelines of the ceremony, an indigene of Ughelli, Chief Majemite Gordons called on the Federal Government, to bestow national honours on the likes of Amaju Melvin Pinnick, whose philanthropy has impacted society, to a large extent.
