Super Eagles striker and lethal weapon of Nottingham Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi will miss the AFCON tournament to be hosted by Ivory Coast in January.
Awoniyi sustained an injury while playing for the Super Eagles against Lesotho in a World Cup qualifying game during the last international break.
According to @officialnffc manager Steve Cooper, the striker aggravated a groin injury he suffered in October and has now undergone surgery and this will take months for him to be fully healed.
