African football is like war – Iwobi

Having being exposed to football in England before switching allegiance to wear the national colours of Nigeria, Alex Iwobi is of the firm opinion that African football is very physical, where opposing players have a war -like mentally to a game.

Iwobi disclosed this in a brief chat with the media on Monday at the camp of the Super Eagles.

“Of course African football is different. There is fire and the intensity is high and very physical. It is almost Iike war,” Iwobi said.

“The task is different and the players very difficult. But it is always marvellous to represent your country.

“It is honour to always represent your country. That’s the feeling every player has when they represent their country.

“Nigeria, we are strong and we believe that we have the players and we feel that we can beat any team. “We just have to prove it,” he said.
