Super Eagles of Nigeria crashed out of AFCON 2025 tournament after losing 4-2 on penalties to Morocco, the host team in the semi final clash on Wednesday night and one of the Nigerian players that lost his penalty was Samuel Chukwueze, reports www.totorinews.com.
Unknown to many millions of Nigerian football fans, Chukwueze was the best penalty taker in the team during training session of penalties by the Super Eagles under the watchful eyes of Eric Chelle, the head of the technical crew as revealed by an offcial in the team, who pleaded to be annoymous.
“What happenned to Samuel Chukwueze shocked me and others in the team. He was the best penalty taker in the team when they practiced for penalties.
“Football can be cruel. Chukwueze should not single out. Football is a team’s game. It is so unfortunate that he lost his penalty kick because hw never lost any during the training session,” the official said.
Nigeria will play Egypt in the bronze medal match at Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca on Saturday.
