2027 Elections: Tinubu – Dikko Campaign Hit By Fresh Attack in Faskari

The Tinubu-Dikko Campaign surfers another setback following an attack on its campaign convoy by some angry Youths in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State on Saturday.

Some campaign vehicles were reportedly smashed, while others were set ablaze by youths suspected to be from the area. Many people were said to sustain varying degrees of injuries.

The latest incident comes barely four days after the campaign was disrupted during its flag-off rally in Funtua, with reports of attacks on campaign vehicles along the roads in Malumfashi town and some communities in Kankara Local Government Area.

Interestingly, the three local government areas where the incidents have been reported are associated with key members of the Katsina State Government’s Executive Council.

The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Nasir, hails from Malumfashi, while the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba, is from Faskari, where latest attack occurred, while the Deputy Governor, Faruk Jobe, is from Kankara.

In an earlier press statement, the Tinubu-Dikko Campaign Council through its media Directorate called on relevant security agencies to investigate the reported incidents, establish the circumstances surrounding the attacks and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The Council also urged political parties, their supporters and other stakeholders to exercise restraint, avoid inflammatory statements and refrain from spreading unverified claims capable of heightening political tension in the state.
