The quest for Team Nigeria to win a medal at the on-.going Paris 2024 Olympics was dashed when Tobi Amusan failed to qualify for the final of 100m hurdles, www.totorinews.com reports.

Amusan, the world record holder finisher 3rd in Heat 1 with a time of 12.55s, which was not enough to take her to the final after other rivals posted better time in heat 2 and heat 3 respectively.

Amusan and the rest of Team Nigeria waited anxiously while hoping for a miraculous entry into the final and it appeared so when Charisma Taylor clocked 12. 63 seconds to place 3rd in heat 2.

But the fate of Amusan was sealed after the completion of heat 3 where Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent clocked 12.44s and Cyrena Samba-Mayela of France came fourth in 12.52s.

Her time of 12.55s was very poor compared to her world record time of 12.12s she ran in 2022 World Athletics championship in Oregon, United States in 2022.
