12-Match Ban : Can’t sleep, eat and my family confused – Rabiu Ali

Aftermath of the 12-Match ban clamped on Rabiu Ali by the League Management Company, the player has said that the punishment hit him like a tornado to the extent that he can’tsleep, eat and his family members are worried with the sad development, totorinews.com reports exclusively.

Captain fantastic of Kano Pillars revealed that he never envisaged that his action in the NPFL Championship Playoff match day four game between his club, Pillars and Enugu Rangers would cause provocation or bring the game to disrepute, as he only wanted to inform the referee that there was still a minute left to play in the five minutes added time of the encounter before he sounded the whistle to end the game.

“The news of the ban hit me too bad. I can’t sleep , eat and my family are still worried and in shock with the 12 -match ban imposed on me by the LMC.” Alli said.

“I only rushed to the referee to tell him that the game still had a minute more to play, unfortunately my action was misinterpreted. It is not in my character as a footballer to be unruly,” he added.

“Such is life. I also know that the management of my club are not happy and they have appealed the decision. My focus is now on how the club can do well and win the AITEO Cup.

Kano Pillars has AITEO Cup fixture on Sunday against Aspire Football club of Anambra, the team that won the Anambra state F.A cup at the expense of more illustrious opponents, FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the final , but Ali is of the firm opinion that the game would be an easy ride for his team.

“I see our game against Aspire as a walkover. We want to do well in the AITEO Cup. Our aim is finish the season with a silverware,” he said.
