Super Eagles: Eric Chelle Could Be The Hero On One Condition – Edema Fuludu

Eric Chelle and Super Eagles
As divergent views from football stakeholders in Nigeria trail the apppintment of Eric Chelle as the new coach of the Super Eagles, Edema Fuludu says football is very unpredictable and Chelle could become a hero in the team, www.totorinews.com reports.
He admitted that the appointment of Chelle came to him as a rude shock due to the low pedigree of the Franco- Malian tactician, as he insisted that the coming of Chelle is a slap on the faces of numerous former Nigerian internationals who are now coaches, himself inclusive.
“I am not the against the NFF. It is just that the truth must be told. The appointment of Eric Chelle is a slap on the faces of Nigerian coaches. He does not have the pedigree to coach the Super Eagles,” Fuludu fumed.
“He is from France,  played for Mali. He is not better than our Nigerian coaches, but he has been given the job and from the depth of my heart, i want the Super Eagles to win, to succeed, for my country to thrive in football.
“I don’t care what happens with the kind of coach the NFF gets, in as much as Nigeria get the result of what we are looking for.
“I think the Super Eagles deserves a coach that can qualify the team to 2026 World Cup.
Speaking further, the member of AFCON ’94 winning squad of the Super Eagles informed that Chelle may turn things around positively and this has to do with the players in the team, as he flashed back to his days while playing for BCC Lions of Gboke more than three decades ago under late Shuiabu Amodu.

“Football is very unpredictable and Chelle could starting winning with the Super Eagles and become hero in Nigeria, but on one main condition and that has to be players in the team.
“A team that has back to back African footballer of the year 2023 in Victor Osimhen and 2024 in Ademola Lookman is capable of beating any team in Africa on a good day.
“The truth is this, the players must play for the coach, must listen to Chelle and respect him.
“Late Shuaibu Amodu made a name for himself at BCC Lions of Gboko because we the players played for him with all our hearts.
“I remember the coach would see me with my girlfriend in a restaurant and he would buy wine for us and charged my girlfriend to take it easy with me because he was going to drill me in training the following day.
“By 3pm the following day, myself and other players were at the training,  ready to be drilled to fullest in order to get the best from us on match days.
“So, the Super Eagles players must be willing to play for Chelle for him to become hero in Nigeria,” he concluded.
