According to the rock- solid defender, who plies his trade with Slavia Prague in the elite league Czech Republic, there are so many dimensions to football and every footballer will never step unto the field with the mindset to lose a game, but to win.
He noted that wearing the national colours of Nigeria reminds him of the wish of his late father, who greatly desired for his son to play for the Super Eagles, sadly, his father passed on before he could realise the great feat.
“To play for Nigeria has always been a great achievement for me because that was one of the desires of my late father before he died. I want to always do well,” Ogbu said.
When asked of the possibilities of the Super Eagles performing great at the forthcoming AFCON tournament, the smooth tackling defender informed that people have different views about football. He, however noted that, footballers want to win every game, irrespective of the emotions attached to the game.

“People see football differently. As a supporter, you have the emotion, the feeling about each game and as footballers, we have our emotions as well.
“As footballers we have the same emotions that the supporters have, but at the same time, we know about hard work, training so hard to be in good physical condition in every game and personally, not forgetting the place of God and grace.
“There is something called grace. I am somebody that believes in grace. Grace has brought me so much far. So, with the AFCON, the first instinct for every Super Eagles player is to do well, win and we will say that we want to win by faith and also hardwork.
“So, it is about God first, then work hard, with strong focus on the main objective and at the end, i believe that the result will be good at AFCON,” he concluded.
