Consul of the Republic of Phillipines to the Nigerian Consulate, Emmanuel Akpakwu MFR has heaped praises on Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the Students’ Loan Bill.
In a statement signed by Akpakwu, an infamous youth advocate, he commended the president for showing passion and priority on critical issues that affects young Nigerians.
“This bill assented to by Mr. President is in line with what is obtainable in developed countries, like the U.S and U.K. So, it means our young people can also enjoy schemes like this” Akpakwu said.
“What we have in this new bill even edges other systems because it is interest-free, meaning, enthusiastic young Nigerians will not be denied education and personal
development opportunities due to impoverishment.
“For this singular act, the president has shown his commitment towards youth development.”
Akpakwu, who also sponsors young Nigerian to study both at home and abroad said he has witnessed how much transformation education can bring to one’s life, and has backed young Nigerians to make use of the opportunity judiciously.
He also thanked Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who sponsored the bill during his time in the House of Representatives, discribing the move, as a watershed moment for the youth.
