Former Super Eagles player, Patrick Paschal has hailed the leadership of  Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), over the ratification of the contentious October 2020 elections that brought in ex-Nigeria international Chikelue Iloenyosi as the the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association.

Paschal, who is the chairman of Bauchi State Football Association, informed that it is very good for former footballers to go into the administration of the game, adding that  it is a welcome development to have Iloenyosi to run the affairs of football in Anambra State.

“It is a long awaited decision and I congratulate my colleague, a former footballer like myself as the new Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association,” Paschal told www.totorinews.com on Tuesday evening.

“This is what any former Nigerian international should do if he or she decides to administer Football. You must get into the football system to effect change and ensure that Football continues to grow.

“This is a milestone achievement to have someone who had played football at the highest level to administer the game in the state. Hopefully, this is the beginning of great turnaround for football in Anambra State.

Reacting to Anambra Sports Council boss Tony Oli, who is vehemently opposed to the decision and some stakeholders that may also not be favourable disposed to having Iloenyosi at the helm of football affairs in the state, Paschal said that NFF is the highest football ruling body in Nigeria and the ratification is very appropriate.
