After tipping the ball into the net to register a goal for Abia Warriors in the encounter against Kano Pillars, there was no denying the fact that Nweke Kalu is having a very splendid season in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.
Although, it ended 2- 1 against his team, but Kalu was able to assert himself in the game, which has been the hallmark of his contributions to Abia Warriors this season.
Kalu, is the lifewire of Abia Warriors, his energetic displays has given the team a breath of fresh air and it is no wonder that he is a delight of fans of Abia Warriors that fondly calls him ‘Soft 11’.
He is very comfortable with the ball using both feet, packed with canon of shots, a classical example of a midfielder who is calm under pressure, blessed with great vision and excellent first touch on the ball.
For a footballer who will clock 23 years old next month, it is very obvious that he has continued to improve his game since he came to reckoning in the Nigeria league scene as the captain of Kwara United three years ago.
Having played nine games out of 14 league games so far in the NPFL, with a goal and two assists registered in his name, it is hoped that Kalu will continue to improve his game.
In a brief chat with www.totorinews.com, Kalu informed that what is most important to him is that, he must continue to improve the quality of his game.
“It is good to score a goal, but the most important thing is to continue to improve the quality of my game and help my team this season,” Kalu told www.totorinews.com exclusively.
“The NPFL is a very difficult league. Each game gives different dimension of difficulties.
“There is a need for a player to continue to work hard and that is my main focus,” he said.
