The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has expressed his organization’s commitment to enhancing the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Speaking at the 2024/2025 NPFL Awards Ceremony in Abuja, Sanusi acknowledged that Nigeria is a fertile ground for football talents, emphasizing the need for the NFF’s full support to make the NPFL more meaningful.
Sanusi pointed to the increased interest from foreign clubs in Nigerian players as evidence of the NPFL’s growing standard. He noted that the numerous invitation letters players receive from international clubs during every transfer window demonstrate the league’s potential and the talent pool it nurtures.
The NFF General Secretary also announced a significant development for the NPFL, revealing that NTA Sports would televise league matches this season. This decision comes after the expiration of Startimes’ contract, marking a new chapter in the broadcasting of Nigerian football.
By partnering with NTA Sports, the NFF aims to increase the league’s visibility and reach a broader audience. This move is expected to not only boost the NPFL’s profile but also attract more fans and potential investors.
Sanusi’s remarks underscore the NFF’s dedication to promoting Nigerian football. The 2024/2025 NPFL Awards Ceremony, where outstanding players and coaches were recognized, serves as a testament to the league’s growing competitiveness and talent pool.
With the NFF’s support and the NPFL’s continued growth, Nigerian football is poised for greater success. The partnership with NTA Sports is a welcome development, and fans are eagerly anticipating the increased exposure and opportunities that this partnership will bring.
