A veteran NPFL coach, Ndubuisi Nduka has said that the matter of the health issues of goal keeper of Heartland FC of Owerri, Edward Nwakanma is un-necessarily over flogged, reports www.totorinews.com

Nduka affirmed that an issue like this based on welfare of players should not be used to smear the image of the team in particular and Imo State in general, as he stressed that if the former Technical Adviser of the team, Christian Obi could pay N300k before the commencement, the remaining balance of about N700k ought to be settled without any big deal.

“If the former Technical Adviser of the team in the person of Christian Obi could as a matter of necessity deposited the initial sum of 300k Naira so that the hospital could commence treatment, how come someone in the club cannot clear the bill so that Edwin can be discharged and released from the hospital,” Coach Nduka queried.

“I don’t think the player should remain in the hospital till the government release the money even if it takes another one year.

“I have followed with keen interest the issue of this player (Edwin Nwakamma), and i believe, it is time the management do the needful and focus on Heartland Football Club not being relegated at the end of this season in the NPFL,” he said.

Nwakamma was injured while on duty for Heartland.
