Despite the fact that Afemai Football Academy finished in the third position at the just concluded Nationwide League One Division 3 playoffs at the Kwale township stadium, Benjamin Izegwa stood out as a bright spot in the team, www.totorinews.com reports.
Izegwa, a striker was very outstanding as he scored four goal from four games by his team, an average of a goal per game to end as the runners up to Friday Omoregie, who scored five goals for Ine Stars of Benin.
The zeal, skills and energetic displays of Izegwa endeared him to the football fans at the Kwale township stadium, as he also blessed with the ability to take opposing defenders with his speed and bullet shots in search of goals.
Prior to the playoffs, he had shown tremendous goals scoring hitting the back of the net four times in four games and it was not surprising that he tormented the opponents with goals.
At 18 years, he has all the potentials to nurture his game to greatness as he continues to develop under the tutelage of the technical crew and management of Olegacy Football Club Feeders team (Afemain Football Academy).
The Nasarawa State- born attacker, popularly called Aboki by his team mates can also play from either of the flanks depending on the tactical formation of the technical crew, where he had also flourished.
There is no doubt that great future beckons on Izegwa in the round leather game if he continues to work hard and remain humble.
