The beauty of grassroot football was on display at the Legacy pitch, Surulere stadium on Sunday, where Mavlon FC defeated Kidsport FC to win the U – 19 tournament, reports www.totorinews.com.
It was a classic final filled with great football artistries from both sides. Every aspect of the game did not lack the thrilling atmosphere of beautiful football made in Nigeria, as the teenage players showcased skills and intelligence that attracted cheers from the Lagos fans who trooped to the legacy pitch to watch the encounter.
Leading the pack of exciting teenage players was Charles Agada, the school boy striker of Malvon FC, who was the tormentor – in – chief against the defence of Kidsport.

Agada, who can be described as a power striker was too hot to handle, as he threatened the defence of Kidsport in the quest to break the deadlock, which remained goalless going into the break.
Second half began with the same end to end attacking game from both sides, although Mavlon looked more dangerous.
Kidsport did not just lie at the back, soaking the pressure. The team also orchestrated some attacking moves from their midfield jewel, Benjamin Mustapha, a member of 2021 Golden Eaglets team of Nigeria.
Certainly, it was Agada who stole the show with his so many attacking forays, amazing dribbling runs and canon of shots from his magical right-foot, that could only rattle the goalkeeper or missed the target narrowly, without the finding the back of the net.
The defence of Kiddos finally crumbled when Agada displaced a defender before assisting Kelechi Onwugamba, who was very clinical in front of goal to give Malvon the lead.
It turned out to be the only goal of the final game as Mavlon FC were crowned champions of the U – 19 tournament powered by Mavlon FC.

Agada, who has goals flowing in his DNA scored eight goals to become joint top goals scorer with Skara Aka, who also scored same number of goals in the colours of Kingspor.
However, the fact remains that Agada played fewer number of games after joining his teammates in the middle of the tournament with some fixtures already played.
It is very obvious that 15 – year old Agada is a future football star if he continues to improve his game and it is worthy to note that Mavlon FC is equal to the task of giving him the enabling environment for his continued development in the round leather game.

Watching Agada is a confirmation that indeed football is a beautiful game as described by the great Pele of Brazil.
