After eliminating the Desert Foxes of Algeria 2-0 to book a spot in the semi – final of AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco, Ibrahim Gusau, NFF President is very optimistic of another victory for the team as they file out against the host nation on Wednesday, reports www.totorinews.com.
Gusau said that it is very obvious that the Super Eagles are fully focused and hungry in achieving the ultimate goal of winning the AFCON tournament judging from the way the team had been very domineering in all the five games they had played so far.
“It is very glaring that the Super Eagles are very eager, focused and full of hunger to win this tournament, which will make Nigerians and their families to be proud,” Gusau told the media in Morocco.
“We are happy to see the Super Eagles play the type of Nigeria football known all over the world. The last edition in Cote d’ ivoire in 2024, Nigeria narrowly lost the trophy.
“Looking at this tournament this time around, the Super Eagles have displayed strong unity of purpose and strenght of character worthy of winning AFCON trophy after 13 years.
“Moroccans are beatable in front of their home fans. The Super Falcons did it last year in Morocco by beating their women’s national team in the final of WAFCON to win the trophy,” he said.
The semi- final clash is slated for 9pm Nigeria time on Wednesday.
