By Paul Michael

Abia Warriors FC defender Faiz Jibrin has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure maximum points in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary match against Malian side Djoliba FC. In an exclusive interview with www.totorinews.com, Jibrin revealed his thought process behind the assist that led to Abia Warriors’ opening goal.

The Assist

“I already knew the goal would come,” Jibrin said, attributing the success to the team’s routine. “I immediately saw Emeka inside the box, so I had to pull the cross for him to finish.” This well-timed assist showcases Jibrin’s understanding of the game and his ability to read the opposition’s defense.

Confident of Success in Mali

Despite the challenges of playing away from home, Jibrin is optimistic about Abia Warriors’ chances of securing maximum points in the return leg. “We’re hopeful of getting the maximum points when we get to Mali,” he said. “We’re standing very strong without conceding a goal, which gives us a good foundation to build on.”

Expectations and Contributions

Looking ahead, Jibrin expects the team to build on the momentum they’ve gained so far. “Moving forward, the team will redefine our skills and do better by taking every chance we’ll have,” he said. As for his personal contribution, Jibrin aims to provide more assists and score more goals. “I want to stay dedicated to make sure I provide more assists and, if possible, score more goals.”

With Jibrin’s confidence and determination, Abia Warriors FC will be looking to make a strong impression in the CAF Confederation Cup. Can they capitalize on their momentum and secure a favorable result in Mali? Only time will tell.
