Another diasporan Destiny Udogie with Nigerian blood gushing in his veins has been lost to his country of birth, Italy as he was named in the Azzuri’s team by manager Luciano Spalleti.
Udogie joins a horde of Nigerian-born player to dump his roots for his country of birth as the numbers grow with each passing time.
That’s a top quality passed up as it’s very unclear of the NFF pushed to have the top class Tottenham Hotspur left back in the Super Eagles’ fold.
The youngster would have locked down the Eagles’ left back position and thrown the keys into sea, retiring the bunch struggling to stamp authority and win the fans’ hearts just like the last matador, Celestine Babayaro.
Udogie would also have lasted a “century” in the Eagles’ ranks and most probably captained the great fatherland.
We wish Udogie well as Nigeria continue to count their losses.
